China Hospital Companion

Terms of Service

Last updated: [[EFFECTIVE DATE TBD]]

These terms apply when you request or use the hospital companion service offered through chinahospitalcompanion.com. "We" and "the hospital companion" mean [[OWNER_LEGAL_NAME]], operating China Hospital Companion. "You" means the person requesting the service and, where different, the patient.

1. What the service is

China Hospital Companion is a non-medical, logistics-only hospital companion service. Depending on what we agree with you, it may include:

  • meeting you at an agreed meeting point;
  • wayfinding within the hospital;
  • help with registration and queues using the hospital's own counters, machines and official booking channels;
  • help paying at the hospital's own counters or machines, using your own payment method;
  • collecting reports or medicine when the hospital allows it;
  • help keeping track of receipts, forms and printouts.

We currently arrange visits in Beijing. Service in other cities in China is subject to availability and will be confirmed in writing.

2. What the service is not

We are not a medical provider and do not give medical advice. The hospital companion does not:

  • give medical advice or opinions;
  • interpret test results, reports or images;
  • take part in any medical procedure;
  • choose or consent to treatment on your behalf;
  • sign medical documents for you;
  • adjust or advise on medication;
  • hide, change or selectively pass on medical information;
  • provide visa, immigration or entry advice, or issue invitation letters or supporting documents;
  • advance, collect or handle hospital or medical fees;
  • accept commissions or kickbacks from hospitals, clinics, pharmacies or anyone else;
  • buy, sell or resell appointment numbers;
  • act as a certified medical interpreter.

All medical decisions are made by you and your doctor.

3. Your choices and responsibilities

  • You choose the hospital and doctor. We don't recommend or rank hospitals or doctors.
  • Appointments. Appointment availability is set by each hospital and its official booking channels. We can't guarantee a registration, a named doctor, or a specific date or time slot.
  • Documents and payment. You bring your own identity documents (hospitals usually require a passport to register) and your own way to pay the hospital.
  • Accurate information. Please give us accurate contact details, dates and logistics information.
  • Health information. Please don't send health information through the website or by email. See our Privacy Policy.

4. Emergencies

The hospital companion is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 120 or go to the nearest emergency department. If your health appears to be at urgent risk during a visit, we will help you seek emergency care, but we can't provide care ourselves.

5. Quotes, prices and payment

  • We send a quote in Renminbi (CNY) after reviewing your request. Package prices: [[PRICE TBD]].
  • Our fee covers the hospital companion service only. Hospital, lab, pharmacy and transport costs are paid by you directly to the provider.
  • Payment is in CNY, typically via Alipay or WeChat Pay. If you pay with a foreign card through Alipay or WeChat Pay, the payment provider may add a fee. That fee is set by the provider, not by us.
  • Your booking is confirmed only after we confirm we've received your payment.
  • Overtime is charged only if you agree to it on the day, at the rate stated in your quote.
  • There are no hidden fees. Everything you pay us is stated in the quote.

6. Cancellation and rescheduling

[[CANCELLATION POLICY TBD]]. The text below is proposed language and is not yet in effect:

  • Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before the start time: free (one free reschedule).
  • Cancel between 48 and 24 hours before the start time: 50% of the service fee. Alternatively, you may reschedule once for free to a date within 14 days.
  • Cancel less than 24 hours before the start time, or don't show up: 100% of the service fee.
  • If we cancel: full refund. We'll try to help you reschedule, but we're not responsible for other costs you've arranged separately.
  • If the hospital cancels the clinic or your appointment: free reschedule. If you'd prefer a refund, we deduct only for time already spent.
  • Refunds go back to your original payment method.

7. Minors

If the patient is under 14, a parent or guardian must submit the request, agree to these terms, give all consents, and accompany the patient or arrange appropriate accompaniment.

8. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or outcomes, which are the responsibility of the hospital and your doctor. We are not responsible for decisions made by hospitals, including appointment availability, waiting times or fees. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [[LIABILITY CAP TBD]]
